Ten Zombaikus
(Yes, zombie haikus. They work together. They're poetic, yet prosaic, yet poetic, but apropos.)

Sadly, the zombie
apocalypse began some
ten decades ago.
Zombies can't abide
non-zombies, they're virulent
monsters, not saviors.
Fortunately, a
vaccine exists which can make
one human again,
able to live with
variations, able faith-
fully to enjoy.
Fear kills the mind, and
hate is just fear unprocessed.
Some encourage fear.
Unplug, break habits.
Alone, feel your feelings ease.
Thusly, see fear's roots.
Monks and readers do.
Fearmongers hate seeing this
because they fear it.
Cultures make zombies.
Be your own culture, not a
robot, zombie child.
To err is human.
Learn how to admit mistakes,
to forgive, divine.
Zombies can't abide
non-zombies, they're virulent.
Be a citizen.

A considerable percentage of the people we meet on the street are people who are empty inside, that is, they are actually already dead. It is fortunate for us that we do not see and do not know it. If we knew what a number of people are actually dead and what a number of these dead people govern our lives, we should go mad with horror.
