The Great Ostriching should remain a satirical element in CotF
Much as I want to keep my articles “pleasant” so as not to drive away my dear readers, I can’t in doing so contribute to ostriching about the harsh realities of our world. After all, I seriously mocked “ostriching” in “Custodians of the Future”.
Hopepunk is about facing harsh realities and finding ways to remain human anyway. That comes with practice, not escapist ostriching.
So this article is another reminder that World War 3 is happening right now and has been happening for a long time, in parallel with the social engineering assaults by the Haves upon the Have Nots worldwide.
I write these things just in case you, dear readers, find it helpful to pass along such missives.

These are as reputable a collection of news sources, from multiple countries/regions, as anyone could ask for, so they’re up front to get past any notions that this isn’t really happening. A visit to Russia’s Pravda state-controlled propaganda news source doesn’t deny the ‘war’, it simply slants it the way the state wants it slanted.
It’s not a ‘war’ in the sense that two nations mutually attacked each other. It’s an invasion by Russia, initiated by Russia upon a sovereign democracy. Their invasion has been rife with war crimes, easily categorized as genocidal war crimes. Civilians and infrastructure, including hospitals and schools full of children, are routinely targeted. It’s not an invasion against Ukrainian military forces and facilities.
The goal is old-fashioned: gain resources (including slaves) and destabilize the West. The latter part of the goal has happened no matter what the borders finally end up looking like, and that went into Putin’s calculus behind perpetrating this invasion in the first place.
And it’s World War 3 because Iran, China, and North Korea are aiding Russia in those efforts, using Russia as a proxy in Russia’s use of Ukraine as a proxy. Iran supplied huge numbers of drones. I haven’t kept up with whether their production has been able to keep up, but either way, they’re in it. North Korea sent its own slave soldiers to fight alongside Russia’s troops, soldiers who recently fired upon Russian soldiers due to language barrier problems.
Russia invades, takes children and adults, sends adults to war as more meat waves in its other invasions. It needs children as A) psy ops against families whose children are taken, B) hostages for prisoner exchanges, C) new meat waves when they grow up. Maybe more.
Russia invades and steals everything it rolls over. Things aren’t so great back home. Mafia states suck at economics and production.
Russia’s mafia state creates a self-perpetuating condition that consolidates power and wealth among the few Haves, who become ever more desperate to stay powerful and wealthy as their state fails. Mafia states don’t always fail entirely, but they always commit atrocities across generations, internally and often externally, as we see in Ukraine and Syria, etc.
The failure of the Assad regime was a good thing. What it ultimately means in WW3 is still unclear. You can bet the mafia states are scrambling to consolidate and find new ways to use Middle East proxy war to continue to destabilize the West, as they have since before Israel became a state after WW2.
Without listing atrocities, without going directly to heartache, this article is here simply as a reminder that yes, this is happening, and no, ostriching can’t make it go away. The mafia states and oligarchs everywhere (including in the DSA) want nothing more than to have us all become so hopeless that we switch to protectionism mode and stop fighting against the axis of evil perpetrating WW3 against the few Western governments of/by/for The People. It’s a simple technique — push people to the bottom of Maslow’s Heirarchy of Needs.
In case it isn’t obvious, the larger plan to destabilize the West involves generating as many refugees as possible. Flooding Western nations with refugees and other immigrants coupled with social engineering instigations of racism and scapegoating and general frustrations about the impact that immigrants might have on economies, plays right into the oligarch agenda. The perception of threats from immigrants helps drive locals down Maslow’s Heirarchy of Needs among those who aren’t objective about such things. Be objective. Teach objectivity.
Social engineering attacks remain ongoing, and ended up putting oligarchs in charge in the DSA, a serious blow to the rest of the Western world. I can only hope that protectionist withdrawal doesn’t take hold elsewhere. Recent elections in the UK and France provide some hope that the People in those states are better aware of this situation than many in the DSA. Maybe the DSA cult’s success will be a wakeup call to the brave and smart citizens of those nations, living much closer to Russia as they are. My heart goes out to everyone in NATO. Genetically, I have distant relatives in Lithuania and Poland, who are right behind Ukraine at the front line. I feel all this like I have family right there.
As I’ve said multiple times before, government of/by/for The People, with its inefficiencies and compromises, is The People’s labor union against the oligarch-run mafia states, and taxes are our union dues. Abandoning such systems due to fear and scapegoating, or worse, idealism, is a crime against humanity and the planet.
The “Tank Man” of Tiananmen Square, with grocery bags in hand, challenged the morals of the tank crews who killed thousands of protesters. By controlling information and cracking down on its own people, the PRC has tried hard to wipe their nation’s memory of their Tiananmen Square massacres and the famous “Tank Man”.
Here in the DSA, even before taking office, the Trump bloc started the pro-Russian rhetoric by claiming Biden’s actions in support of Ukraine were “pro-war”, as if defense of Ukraine is pro-war. You can bet we’ll hear a lot more of that kind of disinformation from this Russian puppet administration/regime.
We can’t play into that kind of social engineering. We must continue to do everything possible to fight the mafia states and oligarch agenda and to fight the disinformation and social engineering.
We’re all the Tiananmen Square Tank Man now. We’re all the Ukrainian Sunflower Lady now. Let’s stay as strong as they were. I for one will be sending another donation directly to Ukraine via United24 right now.
